2.  R&TTECA Technical Guidance Notes - TGN

The R&TTE CA publishes Technical Guidance Notes (TGN’s) which are related to activities carried out by R&TTE Notified Bodies but are also of interest to other parties such as Test Laboratories and manufacturers. These mostly have their origins in questions raised by R&TTE CA members and after discussion and approval by the membership they are submitted for scrutiny by the European Commission’s TCAM WG.

TGN’s must be understood as giving general guidance to facilitate comprehension and practical implementation of the conformity assessment procedures of the R&TTE Directive. They have no legal force but often considered to be State of the Art.

Important Notice: Approved TGNs are available for non-members, however users should consider R&TTE CA Membership to take advantage of the additional information available to members. As TGNs are constantly being updated only the R&TTE CA members have access to the comments prepared and discussions taking place in order to update existing TGN’s as well as the new TGN’s in development.
